the-fold-wallet-by-leffot

Leffot is a New York based store located in the West Village that specializes in fine men’s shoes and accessories. Their motto “Nuquam Jactate” or Never Boast in english attests to the classic styles of shoes and accessories selected for their shop and their strong belief that less is more.

The FOLD wallet is a clear indication that less really is more, and this simplistic and functional money holder only requires 3 folds to snugly secure your cash and credit cards in your pocket. The Fold wallet is made from a single piece of Horween Shell Cordovan, a classic, durable, and quality leather made from the hind end of a horse with a process that takes at least 6 months. The FOLD wallet is available in small (2.5″ x 2.75″ folded, fits U.S. Dollars and no credit cards) and large (2.5″ x 3.5″ folded, fits all international currencies plus a credit card or two) and buyers are able to choose from 4 colors: Natural, Oxblood, Rust and Black. This wallet is sold exclusively by Leffot. read more »

Bridge-Burn-Irving-Waxed-Cotton-Jacket

Established in 2009, Bridge & Burn produces high quality garments, which are often inspired by the rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest and combined with modern and clean design. I’ve been a big fan of waxed cotton ever since I bought the Shades of Greige Atlantic Windbreaker due to its sleek look. The Bridge & Burn Irving waxed cotton jacket is a parka style coat with a gingham lined back suitable to keep you warm and dry during those light rain filled days. This coat features two chest and hand pockets with a storm flap and is available in the standard sizes S-M-L-XL. Purchase available at Bridge & Burn and various stockists throughout the U.S. and Canada

Timo-Weiland-Spring-Summer-2012-4

Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein began their venture in fashion together back in 2009 with neckwear, by 2010 they expanded into men’s and women’s clothing and accessories and debuted their Spring Summer ready to wear collection at New York Fashion Week.

For the Timo Weiland 2012 Spring Summer collection the duo used a summer trip as their inspiration. Weiland explained the collection as “Basquiat goes to Hawaii, goes surfing, and invites all his cool downtown city girls as guests,” which is shown quite successfully in his menswear collection. The majority of pieces seem to be ideal for the hip yet casual gentleman, with a few tailored pieces thrown in, such as the tailored baseball jackets and trench coats. warriors-of-radness-fall2011-mens-02

Los Angeles clothing Brand, Warriors of Radness, has seemingly taken a page from the LMFAO lyric book with their “Party Rockin” Fall/Winter 2011 lookbook. Their collection was clearly inspired by those wild nights on the town and with “nights getting longer it just means there’s more time to drink more beer, smoke more herb, and #%&@! more chicks.” Check out the entire collection here.

My favorite up and coming shoe brand, Zuriick, released a preview of their fall 2011 collection, which can pre-ordered via their website. The preview of the Zuriick 2011 Fall collection shows new selections of favorites such as the Ake, Beata, and Nico. There is also a new addition to their lineup of boots with the introduction of Andre, described as a “work boot-style made for fun more than heavy lifting-yet competent to do both.” Check out the new collection and stay tuned for news about the entire Zuriick 2011 fall collection.

Civic-Duty-Tyvek-Sneakers

I stumbled across these unique sneakers during my visit to Provincetown this summer. The brand is Civic Duty and they use the recyclable material Tyvek (yes, the same material as the FedEx Bags), a lightweight, waterproof, and durable material, for their sneakers.  Creator, Steven Weinreb launched Civic Duty after he became unemployed as a result of the 2008 economic downturn and part of the brand’s mission is to be socially, environmentally, and fiscally responsible. Each year Civic Duty will introduce an exclusive shoe where 100% of the proceeds are donated to a charity benefiting those in the United States. This year the proceeds will benefit Common Ground Relief, a non profit that provides short term relief for victims of hurricane disasters in the Gulf Coast region, and long term support in rebuilding the communities affected in the New Orleans area. I’m looking forward to watching this brand grow. Check out the Civic Duty collection and be sure to Follow and Like.

christian-louboutin-tartan-rollerboy-spikes-1

I’ve featured the Christian Louboutin Rollerboy spike loafer a couple times on Color + Style. First on Dennis R via the defunct Lookbook HIT and as a feature of the Denim Rollerboy Spike. The red sole shoe maker is releasing an update of the Rollerboy Spike in a tartan pattern for the Fall/Winter 2011 and will be available on September 16, 2011 via the Christian Louboutin website.

Plastique-Jewelry-CMYK-Necklace-RGB-Necklace

Unique accessories are a sure fire way to spice up your outfit and stand out from the crowd. Design flash sale site, Fab.com, recently featured jewelry from Plastique, plastic jewelry from graphic designer, Jen Murse. I loved the modern and minimalistic designs so much I had to snatch up a pair of necklaces before they sold out. All the jewelry Jen makes is made from acrylic and laser cut to perfection. I had a difficult time deciding if I should purchase the retro music designs, famous city skylines, or geometric shapes. I ultimately settled on the graphic design expressions and bought the CMYK and RGB necklaces. In addition to necklaces, Plastique also offers rings and earrings, and no matter which accessory you choose, nothing exceeds $25! Check out some of my favorites below and be sure to check out the entire collection on the Plastique website. read more »

Kiel Mead Rhino Necklace

If you are looking for unique men’s accessories, try adding accessories by up and coming jewelry maker Kiel Mead to your collection. Best known for his “Forget Me Knot” rings, which have been featured in numerous national publications, Mead takes unusual everyday items and turns them into beautiful and fashionable pieces of jewelry. One of my favorite pieces by Mead is the sterling silver rhino necklace, made from the plastic toy animals kids play with in kindergarten. Other interesting pieces include car keys shaped into rings and necklaces with retainers, drill bits, and ink nibs. Check out more of Mead’s one of a kind jewelry below, and pieces can be bought via Kielmead.com. read more »

Try the Look

Many designers and brands are featuring bright colors in their collections this summer, and in this first edition of Try the Look I am showing you how to wear a pair brightly colored chinos without looking like Bozo the Clown. This look has A LOT of color, however, it is important to remember to let the colorful chinos be the main attraction and let the rest of your wardrobe items act as supporting roles.  Lastly, remember to wear your colorful chinos with confidence and you will be sure to shine as the most stylish in the bunch. Read more for a breakdown of each item. read more »

Thomas Black Wrinkle - Zuriick

It is no secret that I am a HUGE fan of Zuriick shoes and their iconic purple soles. I bought my first pair last fall, which I wear nonstop and I recently featured their spring colored canvas sneakers from their latest collection. More styles have been added to their Summer 2011 collection and this young brand keeps getting better with each collection. Zuriick’s Thomas Black Wrinkle high top is what I would call the perfect sneaker. Why? Versatility and style. This black patent leather high top can easily be paired with jeans and a tee-shirt for a casual look or dressed up with a pair of skinny dark denim jeans, button down and blazer for a trendier look. Regardless of the occasion (assuming it is not formal) the Thomas Black Wrinkle high top is the perfect “go-to” shoe. Available on the Zuriick website.

Shades of Grey Brixton Pleated Short (5).jpg

I first fell in love with Shades of Grey (formerly Shades of Greige) by Micah Cohen two years ago when I purchased the Atlantic Windbreaker, a plum colored waxed cotton bomber jacket. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to purchase other items from this brand, mostly due to their limited availability and sizing. (According to their facebook page, an official website complete with an e-shop should be active in late June)

Brooklyn based retailer, OAK, stocks pieces of the Shades of Grey collection, and I am a huge fan of their Brixton pleated short. The gun powder colored short features a waxed cotton finish, hidden clasp and button closures, 5 pocket detailing with slash pockets in the front and rounded button closure pockets in the back. Pick them up at OAK.
